Arch Manning and Texas football had arguably their biggest win of the season in Week 10 at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas.

The No. 19 Longhorns beat No. 11 Vanderbilt 34-31 on Saturday, Nov. 1, behind a 328-yard performance from Manning, who had entered the week questionable to play, being in the concussion protocol.

The Commodores could not recover an onside kick despite having multiple angles at the ball after scoring a touchdown to cut the lead to just a field goal late.REQUIRED READING: Where’s Lane Kiffin’s best fit? What’s next for Brian Kelly? Who’s next? Ask the expert

Manning set the tone on the first play of the game for Texas (7-2, 4-1 in SEC), firing a 75-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Wingo on the first play from scrimmage. Manning’s passing total was his second-highest of the season, coming off 346 yards against Mississippi State last week.

Quintrevion Wisner finished with 18 rushes for 75 yards and a touchdown, while Emmett Mosley V had seven catches for 69 yards and a score and Wingo finished with 89 receiving yards on two catches.

On Vanderbilt’s first drive, Colin Simmons strip-sacked Diego Pavia and the Longhorns turned the turnover into a field goal to take a 10-0 lead less than four minutes into the game.

Pavia finished 26-of-37 passing for 357 yards and two touchdowns for Vanderbilt (7-2, 3-2). Eli Stowers had seven receptions for 146 yards and two scores.

With the win, Texas is still very much alive in the race in the SEC standings and the 12-team College Football Playoff. The Commodores are still alive despite the loss, but they took a hit in the SEC with it also losing to Alabama earlier in the season.
